Kye’s Birthday for a Cause | One Day’s Wages
So, next month I turn the big 4-0. I hear that’s a big one. 🙂
I had a pretty amazing 39th birthday last year (see here). But this year, I don’t want it to be about me … I want it to be about others. What would happen if people just gave $40 each toward One Days Wages to fight extreme global poverty around the world? I can’t help to think that gifts, presents and gift certificates that I would receive for a birthday would last for a meal or for something that I would buy and enjoy for just a little. But that same amount would be used to educate and save lives! I’m good … they’re not.
If you don’t know much about One Days Wages, watch the video introduction on the bottom right side of this page. They partner with some great organizations like charity: water, World Concern (Haiti), World Vision (Pakistan), and many others. I think what impresses me the most about this organization is that they are very transparent in how your donations are being used to make a difference.
So, whether you were going to get me something for my birthday or not (it’s okay if you weren’t :)), would you consider giving just $40 (40th birthday) to make a difference. Even if one person gave, it would make a difference … but collectively, we can make a huge impact in the lives of many!
Thanks for the consideration!
